FELIWAY Classic Cat Calming Spray - Reduce Stress & Anxiety in Cats - Vet Recommended for Home, Travel & Vet Visits

Feliway is like a miracle spray. I dont useally write reviews but this stuff works great! Been taking my kitty back and forth to my parents 2 hrs away since he was a baby. And every time hed cry the whole way sometimes throw up bexause he was so nervous. I discovered Feliway 1 yr ago and it is a life changer. I spray his carrier 15 min before we go putt a light pillow case over top of carrier put on soft music and he is so relaxed. He will just fall asleep or stare at me and chill. This stuff has never failed me!! Thank you Feliway.I've held off writing a review because I wanted to be sure things were working. We added a six month old kitten to our house in December and while all three of the other cats got along with him just fine, within 24 hours he had started urinating on my bed. He did not have a medical reason for this behavior and since we got him from a rescue at an older age (his siblings had been adopted months prior) I thought maybe this behavior was what was preventing him from getting a home. I did not want to return him to the rescue, this seemed to be his only issue and while gross, it was confined to the one area. I ordered this spray as well as the diffuser and while waiting for it to arrive we kept him out of any bedrooms. I also picked up an additional litter box and put him in it periodically throughout the day to remind him of where it was at. When my items arrived I plugged in the diffuser and sprayed the bed and then waited. Three of my cats, including the kitten, avoided the area immediately after it was sprayed. The marking stopped completely. The fourth cat, a slightly off center, anti-social, neurotic mess of a cat that doesn't really like anyone and spends his days hiding under the bed...he loved it. I mean like LOVED it. He would jump up on the bed as soon as he saw me heading for the spray and roll around where I'd sprayed. Then he started being really friendly with the dogs to the point of annoyance. Then he got super, super, over the top "friendly" with our one female cat. To be clear, everybody is spayed or neutered in this house. This was sort of an unexpected side effect of the product. It's been six months and I'm thrilled that the marking has stopped. I'm not really sure what to do with the fourth cat other than rename him Joey and try to shoo him off when he sidles up to our female all "How you doin'?". We did buy more of the diffusers and plan on keeping them going for at least a while longer. I haven't needed to use the spray after the first bottle got emptied. I think Joey is slightly disappointed.Smelled great, cost effective, calmed our cat.My cats are young and don't go to the vet often. When they were 4-6 month old siblings they were fixed. NOT at the same time, male at 4 months and sister at 6 months. They both hissed and growled at each other when they came home. Thankfully didn't last more than half a day.So fast forward 4 yrs later. Vet time for brother. He came home smelling like the vets office and of rubbing alcohol on his back leg where they took blood samples. WHEN we got home, his Sister freaked! 36 hours of her hissing growling at him. First I tried wiping them both with some of my worn clothes to make them smell the same and smell like me, but it didn't work. Kept them separate. WOW was brother so confused!! I felt so sorry for him. Talking to the vet she suggest rubbing Bach's PET version of rescue remedy on their fur, I put 4-5 drops on my palm rubbed my hand and wiped down both cats to make them smell the same. Thankfully the alcohol wore off by then. Spraying the FELIWAY Classic Cat Calming Pheromone Spray around helped also. UGH don't let it get in your lungs or theirs its nasty!! Please spray when they are not around and let dry a bit. OR buy the wipes they dried faster.NEXT vet visit for recheck I rubbed Sister kitty with the Pet rescue remedy before I left for the vet appointment, and I rubbed him after the vet visit in the car. I also sprayed some parts of the house where they go during the day. Success!! I have never had cats act this way before. I have had cats in my life always. ONLY these 2 sassy kids are this way.. thankful I didnt have that issue with my other babies!!GOOD LUCK!!@I called my vet about recommendations when travelling with cat. Cats not easy to give prescription medicine to calm...dogs a little easier...(I was flying with my cat travelling with me in carrier under seat) I was anxious and was told to try this. I sprayed inside his carrier including a t-shirt of mine left inside. I also sprayed my shirt because u have to remove your pet from carrier to go thru tsa. My biggest fear. I think this sorry just generally makes them feel comfortable. Did not harm my clothing at all. Its not a knock out drug...but in my opinion...it helps. My vet says they use it all the time and they specialize in cats. Not cheap but im definitely glad I purchased.One of my cats has to travel 1hr and 40min to a cardiac specialist. Without this product he would be so stressed out the entire trip; meowing, scratching at the metal door, panting etc. When I spray Feliway on the towel in his crate about 1/2hr before we leave he is very calm and will just lay in his crate looking out with only an occasional mew.Feliway was recommended by my vet for a cross-country drive my cat and I took. I think it helped my cat feel more relaxed. I sprayed the car the night before and I sprayed the inside of the travel carrier too.I use this to spay around my bed and near my legs and feet when sleeping. My six month old kitten was driving me nuts! Every night and morning he would claw the sides of the bed, jump on it and attack my feet and legs. He almost completely stopped in one night. It has been a couple weeks and I'd say there is a 95% improvement. Very impressive. And I'm no longer sleep deprived. For that reason I will purchase more but I feel it is too expensive so did not give the product 5 stars. I can't afford 20 bucks a month and I'm sure I'm not alone. I hope he grows out the the behavior cuz I can't keep this up on my budget.Really pleased does what it saysIt’s only work for normal cat not for my super anxious cat. If you have a super anxious cat like my, I will recommend you to buy PET HEMP OIL from PETPAL brand 500,000mg concentration. Amazon sells it. It’s super helpful for my cat. I give my cat 2 times a day. Now, my cat is enjoying his cat life. And I’m enjoying my cleaning pee free life. If you have a brakie dog like my, you also can try this hemp oil. It works miracles. Instead, she avoided anywhere I sprayed it. I sprayed it on her two favourite chairs that have small blankets on the seat for her. She would not lay on her favourite chairs again, until I washed those blankets; then she went right back on them. I guess it might be good to keep her away from something, even though that is not the intended use. I am getting a new cat soon, so I will maybe see if it helps her acclimate. The price was right, if you compare it to what most Veterinary offices charge. Came quickly, the packaging was right and everything came as expected.
